    A couple of years ago I was in need of a good computer table. I live in Europe, but after searching antique stores, flea markets & new-furniture stores, I came up with nothing but a lot of expensive, not-very-attractive possibilities. (I did find some very nice antiques, but they weren't practical for the computer keyboard. The necessary modifications would have really marred them.) An ad in the New Yorker for this Chilton desk caught my eye, & after about six months of agonizing about whether it really made sense to ship a computer table from the US to France, I bought it. (I've got to say, the people at Chilton were extremely helpful & patient.) After all that, and more than a year of use, MY ADVICE IS: buy this desk! It's a great desk. It's solid, attractive, comfortable to use. It's well-made, practical, and compared with everything else I saw, it's better & less expensive. Even with the shipping, it was a better buy than anything I found here in France.
