factory with Shaker-inspired dedication to workmanship, function and simplicity

| A Brief History of Chilton |
|
We are a family-run company dedicated to bringing you high-quality, classic
furniture and accessories at excellent prices. The Chilton name is as old as
New England. James Chilton, one of the passengers on the Mayflower, was the
father of Mary Chilton, the first child born in the Plymouth Colony. Following
the Civil War, there was a manufacturing boom in the North. Descendants of Mary
Chilton formed a corporation in Portland, Maine that reorganized in 1905 under
the name the Chilton Paint Company.
Today, Chilton specializes in bringing you high-quality wood products at the
best prices. You can feel confident doing business with Chilton, a name that
represents over 135 years of business commitment to the Pine Tree State.

When you are in Maine, please plan to visit one of our two
store locations to
look at our full line of furniture; from beds and bureaus to kitchen tables and
armoires.
We are open in Freeport from 9:00am - 6:00pm Monday -
Thursday and Saturday, Friday from 9:00am - 8:00pm and Sunday from 10:00am -
6:00pm.
In Scarborough we are open from 9:00am - 6:00pm Monday -
Wednesday,
Friday and Saturday, 9:00am - 8:00pm Thursday and 10:00am - 6:00pm Sunday.
We are closed on some of the major holidays, please call first to check our
holiday hours if you are traveling from a distant location. We look forward to
