Chilton is honored to have had its Acadia Live Edge Bed featured on the cover of the annual edition of
artmaine and used in a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired tree-house featured on Animal Planet's Treehouse Masters.

Platform vs. Conventional Bed Frame

A Conventional bed frame typically comes with 3-5 "slats", or pieces of wood that lay across the side rails of the bed frame. These slats are designed to hold a traditional box spring, or foundation, which sits under a mattress to provide support.

A Platform bed has either plywood or sufficient slats running down the length of the bed frame to directly support a mattress without the need for a box spring.

Platform beds typically cost a little more than Conventional ones, but they avoid the need to purchase a box spring and allow for a more modern, lower profile look.
