The Acadia Live Edge Bed features clean lines with a contrasting, unfinished edge from the bark line of the tree. This raw "live edge" ensures that each piece is both dynamic and unique. Designed and built in Maine. Shown in walnut and cherry.

Solid wood construction.
Platform base. 12 hardwood slats 4 3/4" wide by 1" thick, spaced 2" apart, separated by wood spacers. Distance measurement is consistent with most mattress warranty standards. An additional center rail runs head to toe for added support.
Metal hardware to secure rails to bed posts.
Conversion varnish finish.

A Conventional bed frame typically comes with 3-5 "slats", or pieces of wood that lay across the side rails of the bed frame. These slats are designed to hold a traditional box spring, or foundation, which sits under a mattress to provide support.
A Platform bed has either plywood or sufficient slats running down the length of the bed frame to directly support a mattress without the need for a box spring.
Platform beds typically cost a little more than Conventional ones, but they avoid the need to purchase a box spring and allow for a more modern, lower profile look.

Your charge is a flat rate based upon delivery distance from Maine, and includes an unlimited number of pieces (a particularly good value for larger orders). Delivery times can take between two and nine weeks, depending on location and distance from our Maine warehouse. Delivery Costs for Lighting and Home Accessories
When lighting and home accessories are ordered along with furniture, the delivery expense is included in the cost of the furniture delivery. When ordered separately, the delivery cost for lighting is a flat $45 for an unlimited number of lighting pieces. The delivery cost for smaller home accessories is $9.95 per item (Buckland Ceramics, Wooden Bowls, Shaker Peg Racks, Soy Candles, Sheepskin Throws, Woven Throws and Candle Holders).

Nice looking solid construction but the overall quality didn't blow us away - reasonable for the money and would certainly buy the right piece from them again but wasn't awed with the final product as I was with some of the images online

Excellent - quality service and a quality product. We needed two Queen beds with headboards no higher than 37 ins as the rooms have knee walls - not as easy to find as you might think. Well, it sleeps good, no squeaks or rattles. The finish is nicely toned and I look forward to it getting some darker tones. The headboard is not quite as rustic as I would have liked, but the eye gets used to most anything. The slats fit precisely between the block spacers with no hardware. And we like the setback legs. All in all, a well constructed and handsome bed.
This furniture was a fiftieth birthday present to myself and the first set of real bedroom forgive had since leaving home. I will treasure it forever. Many thanks to all at Chilton for a lovely experience start to finish. Cheers, James
This is a beautiful headboard and we were allowed the option of selecting the headboard built for us or the floor model. We chose the latter. Since these pieces each have their own patterns and are a conspicuous focal point of any bedroom, it may be important for some buyers to have more options but I don't believe that is possible under the current arrangement. Also, studying the construction of the frame, it would appear that more options should be available to better accommodate different foundations if desired (we have a power foundation we would not want to be without).
This is a great bed. It's sturdy, looks great, and is a good height. The team who assembled it were quick and did a good job.

A beautiful piece of furniture that matches well with the chest of drawers and end table. One drawer sticks a bit but customer service has been helpful.
