Sunday River Bed
Our Sunday River series offers a rich combination of cherry and walnut. The neat rectilinear lines of this collection create a modern visual as easily at home in an urban loft as in a slope side condo. This bed is a platform bed that only requires a mattress. A foundation is not necessary. Built in Maine.
Shown in solid cherry and walnut. Also available in maple, walnut, white oak and quarter-sawn white oak, all with walnut slats.
Please note that when your new cherry wood furniture arrives, it may be lighter in color than the wood shown in the accompanying photo. New cherry wood is initially a pale, straw color and gradually darkens to a beautiful amber over time with exposure to light.

Platform vs. Standard Bed Frame
A Standard bed frame typically comes with 3-5 "slats", or pieces of wood that lay across the side rails of the bed frame. These slats are designed to hold a traditional box spring, or foundation, which sits under a mattress to provide support.
A Platform bed has either plywood or sufficient slats running down the length of the bed frame to directly support a mattress without the need for a box spring.
Platform beds typically cost a little more than Standard ones, but they avoid the need to purchase a box spring and allow for a more modern, lower profile look.
